We will then contact the location and hopefully they will sign up...

So the show was pretty good the other night. Long and late, but pretty good. I have not been out that late on a school night in a long long time...

We got there as Die Mannequin was finishing up, no real dissapointment missing them...

Next came the Suicide Girls, an interesting show indeed... Lets just say they are young ladies with variuos... talents...

The Trews came on around 10:00 and they played for about an hour. I have only seen them live once, opening for Nickelack a few years ago, but I was very impressed. I think that these guys are going to be around for qute some time, at least here in Canada... Anyway, their performance was excellent.

So, after about a 45 minute wait while the stage was changed over on came Axl and the "new" Guns N' Roses. Of course the fist song was Welcome to the Jungle and the energy and feel was awesome! Axl did his usual dance moves, the "slithering snake" and the "arms out foot stomp while backing up" or whatever you want to call them. Aside from being a bit thicker through the midsection he looked pretty much like the Axl we watched in videos so many years ago...

They continued to play all of the great songs, It's so Easy, Mr. Brownstone, Sweet Child O' Mine, etc... and it was really very good. The only problem was that after the first 4 - 5 songs most of the crowd had to sit for a while because we were all so tired... We are just not used to being up that late anymore...

I did manage to stick it out til the end though, an awesome version of Paradise City rounded out the final encore at about 2:00 am.

It was certainly not the Guns N' Roses we grew up with but I think they are on the right track anyway. I guess we will just have to wait and see whether or not Chinese Democracy ever comes out, they played a couple of their new songs that should be on the album and they were pretty good.

Tonight is the big Guns N' Roses show and I am pumped!

Tickets are selling fast today because they decided to offer a 2 for 1 deal to boost sales... Kind of sucks for the people who already shelled out the big bucks but they will give you one extra ticket for two that you have if you head down to the box office...

Reviews have been pretty good with the excepton of the Portland show, or should I say No-Show, but hey, it's Axl Rose, what do you expect!

Canada is a great country, I am very proud to be a Canadian. But I have to say that we really need to look at some of our laws and how we sentence criminals. Recently a US sailor was killed in Halifax by a person who had previously stabbed someone else:

In April 2002, he jumped Matthew Barton from behind without provocation, stabbing him 14 times, including in the back of the head and the neck. Barton's girlfriend, Ghazala Ali, tried to stop Wright, so he stabbed her, too.

When all was said and done the actual sentence was 67 months, but the judge gave him double credit for 13 months he'd spent on remand, reducing the total time to just 41 months.

And check this out:

Cell phone calls to police were central to getting a P.E.I. man off the highway and behind bars, as he was convicted for his fifth drinking and driving offence Wednesday.

Donald Howard Axworthy, 35, was sentenced to seven months in jail.

So you can get charged for drunk driving 5 times and get 7 months in jail? Is this a joke?

Bill Simmons is a writer for ESPN, he is a funny guy, and I like his articles. He just wrote and article for ESPN.com about the World Cup, and in it, he describes his daily routine (prior to the World Cup). It goes something like this:

My morning ritual used to go like this: Roll out of bed at 7:15, play with my daughter for a few minutes, suck down 185 ounces of coffee to wake up, then answer e-mails and zoom through Web sites for a couple of hours as "SportsCenter" blares in the background.

Replace "daughter" with "son" and "7:15" with "9:15" and this is my dream... Well, if you disregard all the dreams about fishing, I guess...

I made the mistake of buying a new driver and getting my pitching wedge re-gripped. I was able to hit some balls at the range the other day with the new driver and I love it, and I no longer fear that my pitching wedge will fly from my hands and brain my playing parters when I swing it

I have a 7:30 tee off time tomorrow monrning and right now it is POURING OUT!

Christine mentioned the Dream Dictionary on her blog and I decided to check it out... For some reason I always dream about fishing... Here is what it says:

To see live fish in a dream is very much good luck unless the fish was carp, in which case it is a warning against subjecting yourself by your actions to criticism. A fish swimming in clear water is an omen that you will acquire personal wealth and power. but to see a dead fish as in a market is an omen of disappointment. The new album is VERY good... And I guess the tour is going to be something else, it is quite possible it will be their last tour. I am so glad I got to see them last year:

TORONTO - If you were at Pearl Jam's 2006 world tour kick-off show last night at the Air Canada Centre, consider yourself lucky.

Not only was it possibly one of the band's final Toronto performances (they play a second show tonight but have said this may be their last tour), but it may very well go down in history as one of the greatest live performances to ever hit this city.

It turns out that the "Family" eating yummy Hamburger Helper as Hayley Wickenheiser is interviewed by Josee Chouinard are actors, not her real family. The "Unscripted" commercial leads us to believe that Hayley and her "family" enjoy the yummy hamburger-like meal after a long hard day of hockey and ... whatever... She is a busy mom you know...

I am not sure if this falls under the category of false advertising, and I really don't care, I just think it is funny because everyone I know who has seen the commercial has stated that they could not believe it was her real family anyway...

Matt Mays and El Torpedo are a good band, I really think these guys are going to continue to make great music for a long time. They seem a bit raw, a bit unpolished, they may need to mature a bit musically to become big, but right now I really like what they are doing.

I just watched the video for "On The Hood". The start of the video is not that good, really, even though the song is great. I was watching and thinking what the hell are these guys doing? Then it changes about 1/4 of the way in or so and it gets way better. Just wait til they start dancing! I love a great dance scene and these guys are robot-tastic!
